Ethics

The Editorial Board of the journal “Moscow University Bulletin. Series 19. Linguistics and Intercultural Communication” follows traditional ethical principles of Russian academic periodicals, as well as current legal requirements for copyright protection, plagiarism and libel as set forth in the Russian legislation.

1. Authorship.

The manuscript submitted to the Editorial Office must contain information about the author and all co-authors. Submission of a manuscript is taken to imply that the same work has not been already been published and to the best of the author's knowledge is not under consideration for publication elsewhere. The research on the basis of which the article is written must be original and new. Submitting false, inaccurate, unreliable information as well as plagiarism (submission of another person's written work under your own name as well as the inclusion of fragments of other people's works without specifying the source of borrowing) is unacceptable.

2. Authors and their responsibilities.

The author undertakes to cooperate with the Editorial Board of the journal: to make changes, eliminate errors at the request of the Editorial Board; if the author notices any errors in the article submitted for review, they should take measures for their prompt correction. The author guarantees correctness of references and quotations, availability of all necessary permits to the results reported in the article, facts and other borrowed materials, the copyright of which does not belong to them.

3. Reviewers and their responsibilities.

The Editorial Office of the journal accepts papers corresponding to the relevant topics of the journal and arranges peer review process. The Editorial Board offers a wide range of experts as reviewers, and ensures that the reviewers and the authors do not have any conflict of interest. Reviewers evaluate the scientific validity of research. Reviewers’ comments do not relate to personal qualities of authors: unethical and offensive comments are not allowed.

4. The Editorial Office, the Editorial Board and their responsibilities.

The Editorial Board monitors compliance with publication ethics of the journal and ensures publication only of high-quality scientific papers. The Editorial Board selects articles for publication in the journal and makes an informed decision on publication or rejection of the materials as a result of peer review process and collective discussion. Upon detection of errors and inaccuracies the Editorial Board requests the author to eliminate them, reserving the right to reject the material in case of non-compliance. The editorial office is committed to ensuring high quality editing of articles accepted for publication.
