The peer review process takes no less than two months!
All articles submitted to “Moscow University Bulletin. Series 19. Linguistics and Intercultural Communication” are subject to peer review.
The articles are reviewed by members of the Editorial Board and also by external reviewers – leading specialists in their field. The choice of the reviewer for a critical assessment of the article is made by the Editorial Board. The reviewing takes up to two months. The journal follows a double-blind peer review procedure.
If the review contains recommendations on the correction and improvement of the article, the editors send the author of the article the text with the reviewer’s comments, suggesting that they be accepted or rejected (partially or fully, giving reasons) when preparing a new version of the article. The revision of the article must not take more than 14 days from the date of sending an electronic message to the author requiring some changes to be made to the text. The revised version of the article will be evaluated by the editors and, if necessary, sent for another review.
If authors refuse to make changes, they must notify the editors (either in written or oral form) of their refusal to have the article published. If insoluble disagreement over the manuscript arises between the author and the reviewer, or there is a conflict of interests, the Editorial Board has the right to have the manuscript sent for another review. In case of conflicts, the final decision lies with the Editorial Board.
The decision to publish articles is taken at a meeting of the Editorial Board in accordance with the recommendations of the reviewers. The article not recommended for publication will not be reconsidered. Rejection notification is sent to the author by email. After the Editorial Board makes the decision to accept the article for publication, the author will be informed accordingly by the Editorial Office about the proposed date of publication, after which the agreement between the author and the publisher is concluded.
All articles submitted to the Editorial Board undergo internal editorial screening for compliance with the requirements for formatting the articles outlined on the Web site of the journal http://linguistics-communication-msu.ru/for-authors/ and on the last page of every fourth issue.
A positive review does not provide sufficient grounds for publishing the article. The final decision lies with the Editorial Board.
The original copies of reviews are kept in the Editorial Office for 5 years.
Materials accepted for publication undergo editing and proofreading, if necessary.
On completion of editing and proofreading, materials are sent to authors for approval of corrections suggested.
After the issue has been printed the Editorial Board provides the author with a free copy of the journal.
